About The Home
Welcome to our little piece of paradise. We came to this “happy island” in March 2006 for our honeymoon. We loved the weather, the food, and the people. We didn't want to leave. We drove 350 km during that visit, searching for a place to come back to again and again.
Spaans Lagoenweg 43 is that place. The open view from the back veranda, right through the great room, across the front lanai, beyond the beautiful gardens to our little stretch of beach and into the inviting lagoon. This three bedroom rancher is nestled in a small residential community. The neighbor folk are friendly and helpful, as we found all natives to be.
There is a larger beach tucked beyond a little stand of trees, complete with palm umbrellas to shelter you from some sun. The weather is fairly steady at 80 degrees with a constant trade wind. The lagoon is warm enough to just “walk right in”. It is like having a large shallow pool with no chlorine needed. There is a coral reef at the outer perimeter, home of many beautiful fish. A snorkel experience that you can walk to!
